Pregnant women urged to attend scans and appointments

Greater Manchester midwives are coming together on the International Day of the Midwife to reassure pregnant women across the region that maternity services are still there, and it is safe to attend hospital when they need to during the coronavirus pandemic.

Vital equipment and tasty treats donated to key workers

Hopwood Hall College, Expert Safety and Mike Goldrick Blinds have all been busy contributing vital goods and treats to key workers.

Safety supplier Expert Safety has provided a local HC-One care home with individual carer packages, whilst furloughed staff members from Mike Goldrick Blinds and Curtains in Heywood have been volunteering their time to sew scrubs for Scrub Hub Bury, Oldham and Rochdale.

A representative from Expert Safety said: “We are honoured to be able to donate carer care packages to say thank you for all the hard work they are doing.”

Nebular Cloud Donate Ear Relievers to HMR Care Homes

Thank you to Nebular Cloud of Macclesfield. The company have developed 3D printed ear relievers to help carers wearing face masks for extended periods of time. HMR Primary Care Academy Director Dr Gill Tonge, and the team from Peterloo Medical Centre will be distributing these to HMR care homes this week. Innovation and healthcare coming together. Kite donate 100 PPE Visors to HMR Care Homes

The Kite company has donated 100 PPE visors for distribution to HMR care homes, which have been gratefully received and distributed via Peterloo Medical Centre. The visors are fully splash tested for use in a healthcare setting, and the company has supplied equipment to several NHS trusts. If you are a charity or organisation providing services in Rochdale or the surrounding areas.
We are able to offer you delivery and collection services.

We have motorbikes, cars and Van’s available.

This is a free voluntary service to all groups within our community.

Brass Knuckle Riders is a community based riding group. Encompassing all of our community and its groups.

Rochdale Company Donates Vital Equipment to Support Care Effort

A leading Rochdale manufacturing company has been praised after donating vital protective equipment to support local health and care workers.

Makin Metal Powders provided 130 medically approved FFP2/N95 face masks to help stem the spread of Covid-19 and provide important protection for frontline care staff and vulnerable residents. In addition, they donated £10k to the NHS to purchase a ventilator, a much-needed and life-saving piece of equipment.

Rochdale Morrisons Donated Thousands of Pounds’ Worth of Food to Those in Need During Covid-19 Pandemic

The Rochdale Morrisons store at Kingsway has donated thousands of pounds’ worth of food to Rochdale Foodbank, Rochdale Soup Kitchen, Springhill Hospice, and to local families in need over the last two weeks.

The services are continuing to provide for the people in Rochdale who are finding it difficult to feed themselves and their families throughout the coronavirus pandemic as well as those who would usually rely on each organisation.

Local HMR Schools Make and Provide PPE Equipment

In a show of amazing community spirit, local schools have made and donated Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) for use with HMR.

These donations have come from Kingsway Park High School, in Rochdale, Middleton Technology School and Cardinal Langley Roman Catholic High School in Middleton and have been accepted by our GP practices with much appreciation.
